We had a visit from a hiker who we helped carry off a hiking trail one year ago. She injured her ankle and could not walk out on her own. Firefighters from Otter Point Fire Department hiked up with special equipment to her location, loaded her into a basket stretcher, and began the long difficult carry-out. With lots of sweat and determination, firefighters got her safety down to the trailhead. She was sent off to the hospital and began the long road to recovery.
Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary, and we had a visit from her where she thanked us for helping her that day and presented us with some special gifts for our firefighters including a lovely thank you card.
We’re sure happy to see that you have recovered and you’re back out hiking up the same trail!
