Opening Burning Ends May 31st, 2022

A reminder that this upcoming weekend is the last weekend to burn before Open Burning shuts down till the fall. You still need a permit up till May 31, 2022. Please contact the Firehall at 250-642-6211  if you still require a permit.

 

 

All Open Burning will not be permitted effective June 1st, 2022.

 

This includes all backyard (Class B) Fires and large (Class A) Machine built fires.

Camp Fires OK with clean, split firewood only.

 

If you can’t get all your burning done before the May 31st deadline, We will be hosting another FireSmart Chipping drop-off program Saturday, June 25th, 2022 at Camp Barnard, 3202 Young Lake Road

Chipping Guidelines:

Only tree branches, small woody shrubs, and windfall branches will be accepted –Branch size must be between 2.5 cm (1in) to 17 cm (7in)
Branches and debris should not be placed in bags, boxes, or tied with string or wire Branches and debris should be clean with no dirt, gravel, or muddy roots
No construction debris, lawn clippings, root balls or loose leaves
