Effective 12:00 p.m. on October 2, 2025, Category 2 backyard burning will be permitted within the Otter Point Fire Protection District, provided you have a valid permit issued by the Otter Point Fire Department.
⚠️ A permit is required before burning.
Please stop by the Firehall Mon-Fri 8:30-5:00 pm or call 250-642-6211 to obtain one.
Residents are reminded to:

Follow all permit conditions carefully
- Pile size is a maximum of 3m wide by 2m high

Never leave a fire unattended

Have adequate tools to manage and extinguish fire

Working garden hose on hand to fully extinguish the fire

Ensure your fire is cold to the touch before leaving it
